One of the biggest search engines ‘Google’ offers the best service which is known as Google Alerts. This service can be used by marketing professionals in order to monitor the presence of their company online.
By using this service, you can get an email whenever new web pages are published which are relevant to the search you enter for the alert. Not every single web page is caught by it but it does catch a lot of them mainly those which are from better-known websites.
Currently, there are six types of alerts sent when any new content matches the search terms of the alert:
Web: For a Google Web, sent when new web pages will appear in the top twenty results.
Video: Sent when matching content will appear in the top ten results of a Google video search.
Everything: (Default Setting) aggregates News, Blogs and Web.
Blogs: It will be sent when Google Blog Search will appear in the top ten results.
News: It will be sent when Google news search will appear in the top ten results.
Groups: It will be sent when Google groups search will appear in the top fifty results.
